SWABI, Jan 19: Various Jihadi organizations have intensified their campaign to acquire hides of sacrificial animals, presenting different arguments, including that Islamic law does not prohibit giving hides to those who are fighting against infidels and anti-Islamic elements.

The leaders of Harkatul Mujahideen, including Al-Badr Mujahideen and Hizbul Mujahideen, have held various meetings in this connection to finalize their plan for collecting hides.

Sources told Dawn on Wednesday that they had secured the support of their respective religious parties and after a green signal from them they had stepped up their activities, holding meetings and in different areas.

In this connection, the sources said, various teams have been constituted which would visit their designated areas to persuade people to give hides to these organizations.

The sources said their teams had been trained on new methods to approach people. They said that the halting of their activities had affected their financial position, which forced them to change their tactics for acquiring hides.

The Jihadi organizations also published posters and prepared banners to convince the people to give them the hides. This is the first time that the Jihadi organizations have become active since the banning of some organizations by the government. Their offices had remained closed but they did hold public meetings while continuing their underground activities by holding meetings in secrecy.
