NAROWAL, Jan 17: Patients at the DHQ hospital faced life risk due to the electricity failure on Sunday while the electrician was not available for operating the generator.

Two patients Abdur Rasheed and Sharifan Bibi were brought to the emergency ward of the hospital. The patients and their relatives asked the duty doctor to use the generator but he could not do so because the electrician was not available.

When contacted medical superintendent Dr. Zulfiqar said the generator operator was on a five-day leave and he had no alternative person. Meanwhile, citizens have condemned the negligence of the hospital administration and demanded action in this regard.

OATH: District Nazim Javaid Safdar Kahloon on Monday administered oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the district bar association.

Addressing the ceremony at the bar room, Mr Kahloon congratulated them and assured his cooperation for the welfare of the bar. He also announced Rs500,000 for the bar library.
