PESHAWAR, Jan 16: The four-year-old son of a divisional superintendent of the Pakistan Telecommunication Limited was kidnapped in the Hayatabad township on Sunday.

Sources said that Ahsan Kamal, the son of DE (phones) Mustafa Kamal, was kidnapped while playing outside his house in phase-II of the township.

Meanwhile, an Afghan trader was deprived of Rs1.9 million at gunpoint near the Kacha Ghari refugee camp on Sunday. Sources said that Hakeem Khan, son of Khan Zaman, was planning to hand over the amount to another businessman.

When this correspondent contacted the Hayatabad police station, an official, Jehanzeb, said that they had not registered cases in the two incidents. He claimed that no one from the victims' family had come to the police station to register FIRs.
