PESHAWAR, Jan 14: The Pakistan Railways have 303 residential plots in Hayatabad township which would be allotted to its employees after necessary formalities are fulfilled.

This was stated by Railways Chairman Shakil Durrani at a briefing he gave to the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Railways here on Thursday. The plots, he said, had been secured in exchange for its property in the Kacha Garhi refugee camp by the Plotting Society established in 1985.

State Minister Ishaq Khan Khakwani also attended the meeting. Mr Durrani said that the organization had earned a record profit of Rs920 million during the last fiscal year and efforts were under way to turn it into a more viable entity.
