LANDI KOTAL: Oil tanker destroyed

LANDI KOTAL, Jan 12: An explosive device destroyed an oil tanker near the Pakistan-Afghan border in Torkhum on Wednesday, according to an official source.

The explosion occurred at around 04am which destroyed the oil tanker filled with 40,000 litres of oil.

Officials posted at Torkhum said that the device was fitted in a hidden cavity of the tanker. No one was hurt in the blast and fire. The khasadars later claimed to have defused another explosive device placed under a bridge near the border soon after the oil tanker explosion. Sources said that the devise was fitted in a water cooler.

PROTEST: Nek Khel tribesmen in Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber Agency staged a protest demonstration on the main Peshawar- Torkhum road on Wednesday against load shedding of electricity in their area.
