RIYADH, Jan 12: British Airways is suspending all its flights between Britain and Saudi Arabia from March because of reduced passenger demand, the airlines announced here.

The BA will suspend its flights between London Heathrow airport and Jeddah and Riyadh from March 27. BA had already reduced its frequency from Saudi Arabia and was using Bahrain as a hub to carry passengers from the kingdom, especially from the oil rich eastern province of Saudi Arabia.

The eastern Saudi city of Al Khobar is connected to Bahrain through the 25 kilometres long King Fahd Causeway. Many carriers, for varying reasons, have been ferrying passengers from Al-Khobar/ Dammam across the causeway, for flights to different destinations, rather than using the sprawling King Fahd International Airport.
