Faletti’s, PECO land sell-off

ISLAMABAD, May 28: The Privatization Commission has asked the potential investors interested in Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore; PECO Badami Bagh land, Lahore; and Al-Haroon Chambers, Karachi, a property of Republic Motors, to deposit earnest money for these transactions on May 29 — last date to deposit earnest money.

According to an official announcement, the Privatization Commission had invited the interested parties for participation in the bidding for the sale of Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore, on ‘As is where is’

basis.

The Privatization Commission had also offered a plot of land measuring four kanals 10 marla and 34 square feet, situated in the commercial area of Badami Bagh, Lahore, accessible by roads and railway siding.

The plot, which is being sold on ‘as is where is’ basis through a competitive bidding process, belongs to Pakistan Engineering Company Limited (PECO, Badami Bagh Works), Lahore.

The reputable parties desirous of acquiring the property of Republic Motors Limited, Karachi, on ‘as is where is’

basis were also asked to submit their expressions of interest (EoI).

Those who have already submitted EoIs in response to earlier invitation by the Privatization Commission were not required to apply afresh.

The property known as Al-Haroon Chambers is located on Plot No.10, Garden Road, Karachi.

It is a commercial corner plot, located in the prime area of the city, measuring 4,408 square yards.

The building has shops, showrooms at ground floor and offices, clinics and hospital, etc., on the various upper floors.

Pre-bid conferences to facilitate a better understanding of these transactions and the bidding process and to respond to the queries of the prospective bidders were held at the Privatization Commission offices.

The bidding is scheduled on Saturday June 1, 2002.
