Published January 11, 2005

SWABI, Jan 10: A severe shortage of teachers in the post-graduate college is adversely affecting the studies of students.

The students say that whenever they complain to the officials concerned they are asked to get teachers or M.Sc degree-holders from anywhere and the college management would hire them."

Sources said that there was no proper staff for MA/M.Sc classes and the college principal had hired MA and M.Sc degree-holders. The shortage of mathematics teachers has particularly, hit the students hard.

The students said that it was difficult for them to continue their studies. The sources said that the academic session is nearing completion, and a large part of the academic courses is yet to be completed.

When the students met with the college management on Thursday and complained about the non-availability of the academic staff and non-completion of their courses the officials repeated the old sentence: "Arrange teachers from somewhere and the college management would pay for them".
