HYDERABAD, Jan 4: The district administration has launched a campaign to check adulteration and fake-labelled pesticides and fertilizer. This was stated by Executive District Officer(agriculture) Shuhabuddin Siddiqui at a meeting here on Tuesday.

He said a five-member vigilance committee headed by the DDO agriculture extension had been formed in each taluka of the district to launch operation against adulteration in an effective manner.

The DDO revenue, the TPO, one farmer and one dealer of pesticide and fertilizer are members of the committee. He urged the inspecting officials to ensure that agriculture inputs were being sold on the minimum retail price and the dealers had affixed the price list in front of shops.

He directed that marketing of banned pesticides be detected and stopped with immediate effect.
