ISLAMABAD, Dec 27: A meeting of the top leadership of PPP and PML (N) grouped together in the ARD held on Sunday in Islamabad reviewed the political situation in the country.

Presided over by ARD Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim, the meeting was attended by PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and the PPP parliamentary party leader in the Senate, Raza Rabbani.

The meeting expressed satisfaction with the Alliance's ongoing political campaign aimed at agitating the issues confronting the people and for the restoration of democracy.

The meeting also discussed the need for requisitioning of both the houses of parliament and decided to establish contact with other political parties for this purpose.

The parliament will be requisitioned to discuss the issues of Gen Musharraf's uniform beyond December 31, the deteriorating law and order, the rising unemployment and cost of living and the ban on trade union activities.
