MOSCOW, Dec 27: Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said Monday that Russia and China would conduct their first ever joint military exercises in the latter half of next year on Chinese territory, news reports said.

Ivanov reported to President Vladimir Putin that the exercises would include the army, navy, air force units, submarines, "as well as possibly, strategic bombers," the Inter fax report quoted him as saying.

"We have agreed, with China, for the first time in history, to conduct in the second half of the year fairly large training exercises on the territory of China," Mr Ivanov said. -AFP
