WANA, Dec 22: A committee of Zulikhel tribesmen has disconnected the electricity supply to the Shakai area, and asked the government to provide power supply to all the villages in the region.

Zulikhel, a sub-tribe of the Ahmadzai Wazir, on Wednesday cut the cables supplying power and refused to restore the supply unless the government provided electricity to other villages. They said there was only one grid station supplying electricity to the villages in the Azam Warsak area for intermittent periods.

Most of the villages, they said, were provided power for alternate hours, whereas the Shakai village, some 20 kilometres from Wana, got round-the-clock supply. The Shakai area houses two army camps and was recently declared as headquarters of the agency.
