SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 21: On the demand of members, the tehsil Naib Nazim on Tuesday cancelled all land allotments allegedly made by the tehsil Nazim, TMO and the TO to their favourites during the last three years.

During a tehsil council session held here with convener/Naib Nazim Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood Virk in the chair, the members alleged that Nazim Chaudhry Mehmoodul Haq Shaheen, TMO Rana Naseem, Tehsil Officer (Regulation) Malik Mansha Javaid and other staffers allotted the TMA land worth billions of rupees to their favourites after receiving bribe.

Those who spoke on the occasion were: Muhammad Sharif, Nadeem Khan, Sheikh Anwarul Haq, Rana Muhammad Akram, Abdul Rauf Khan, Rana Muhammad Farooq and Haji Muhammad Latif.

The members said besides this embezzlement, the officials misappropriated Rs25 million on the pretext of streetlights after preparing 'bogus' bills. They said a hefty amount was embezzled under the heads of registry fee, entry fee contract, water rent, map fee and professional tax.

The members demanded stern disciplinary action against the officials after an inquiry by the National Accountability Bureau. When contacted, tehsil Nazim Mehmoodul Haq Shaheen denied the allegations and said that some members wanted to defame him.
