KARACHI, Dec 13: The Sindh Minister for Labour and Transport, Mohammad Adil Siddiqui on Monday approved the setting up of a nursing college by the SESSI.

In a meeting of the SESSI governing body, it was also decided that an automobile training institute would be set up by the ministry of labour and industry, and that the current technical training centres would be upgraded. The minister asked for steps to ensure a better future for the children of workers.

The SESSI meeting also decided to end the affiliation of the Kalsoom Bai Valika Social Security (Site Hospital) with the Hamdard Medical College for failure of the college on implementation of the terms of contract with the medical college and non-provision of the medical facilities to workers and their relatives, covered by the social security net in the province.

Many important administrative decisions, including that of ensuring presence of medical experts in the SESSI hospitals, were taken during the meeting. Those who attended the meeting included Secretary Labour Nasir Hayyat, Commissioner SESSI Asif Margoob Siddiqui, governing body members Khalil ur Rehman, Mirza Baqar Hussain, Qamoos Gul Khattak, Khuwaja Suhail Mansoor and others. -PPI
