RAWALPINDI, Dec 8: An unattended bag was spotted at a filling station in Islamabad which triggered a security sweep on Wednesday night, police said.

The staff of a filling station at Aabpara spotted an unclaimed bag on the premises and informed the emergency police.

A witness said: "We took the necessary security precautions of calling the police and bomb disposal experts and removed all vehicles from the area." The bomb disposal experts and police arrived on the scene and took the bag into their custody. On searching it, the bomb experts found some clothes, a blanket and some walnuts.

Meanwhile, a goldsmith lost huge quantity of gold worth Rs800,000 and Rs29,000 cash after some unidentified burglars broke into his shop in the Banni police area on Wednesday.

Sheikh Zahid, the burglary victim, told the police that when he came to his shop on Wednesday morning, he found the shutters pulled up and the cupboard opened. On listing the items, he found 793 grams of gold and Rs29,000 cash stolen.
