KARACHI, Dec 3: Lahore bowlers produced an inspired bowling performance to force an honourable draw against Karachi on the third and final day of Inter Regional Under-19 Cricket Championship match at PCB Academy ground Friday.

Set 171 to win in 28 overs, Karachi were restricted to 151 for eight wickets in their second innings despite an attacking knock of 64 off 68 balls by Fahad Iqbal with eight boundaries. But Fahad's departure in 24th over ended the hosts hopes of forcing a victory. At one stage Karachi needed just 30 runs with four wickets in hand. But Lahore captain Jahangir Mirza conceded just nine runs in his three overs including the wicket of Anwar Ali to put his team in almost winning position.

He got support from Rohail Younis, Jamshed Ahmed and Muhammad Shahzad who took two wickets each for Lahore. Earlier, Lahore batting staged a fight back in the second innings after conceding a 106 runs lead. Resuming at 86 for two wickets they posted healthy 276 thanks to a brilliant 86 by Jahangir Mirza.

He hit 12 boundaries and two sixes in his 114 ball knock in his 166 minute stay at the crease. Opener Nasir Jamshed cracked a fine 63 with the aid of 12 hits to the ropes. Jahangir with Jamshed Ahmed added crucial 56 runs for the 8th wicket after Lahore were reeling at 163 for 7.
