PPP leader criticizes MMA policies

Published December 4, 2004

PESHAWAR, Dec 3: The MMA government has failed to solve problems of the masses and it is again trying to get votes in the name of Islam in the forthcoming Malakand by-elections , says Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, general secretary of the Pakistan People's Party, NWFP.

Addressing a public meeting at the Halimzai Shabqadar village on Friday, he said the NWFP government had failed to control prices of essential commodities, including wheat flour in Peshawar and its policies had added to the hardships of the common man.

The provincial government, he said, had mishandled the strike of bakers, causing severe hardships to people. Mr Sherpao said that the common man was fed up with the policies of the MMA government and people in Malakand were supporting the PPP and the PML. He expressed confidence in the leadership of Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao. -APP
