LAHORE, Dec 3: Dacoits snatched Rs1.6 million from two people when they left banks while five vehicles were driven away from different parts of the city on Friday.

Miscreants also shot at and wounded Muhammad Younus in Shafiqabad when he tried to catch two armed men on their escape route. The robbers had stormed the house of Amjad Ali whose family had raised an alarm.

Trader Usman Najmi said that he drew Rs 1.1 million from a bank and was on way to his business when four gun-toting men held him up in Gulberg. He added the armed men snatched the money and also thrashed him when he put up resistance.

Two robbers held Naveed Ahmad hostage in Block Q of Liaqatabad and snatched Rs500,000 he had drawn from a nearby bank. Two gunmen intercepted Khan Muhammad at his sports store on Lytton Road and made off with cash and cell phones.

Two gunmen drove away with a motorcycle (LRN-3422) while another motorcycle (LXZ-8282) was stolen from South Cantt. Three cars (LXA-383, LRL-6269, Karachi-AA/6341) were driven away from Defence, Shafiqabad and Shadman, respectively.
