DADU, Dec 1: Members of the Johi Taluka Council have appealed to the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences administration to send specialist doctors for treating the patients of a skin disease and carrying out tests of malaria, TB, hepatitis-B and other diseases to the Kachho area.

A taluka council meeting, held in Johi on Wednesday and presided over by convener Syed Shahan Shah Jilani, adopted a resolution to this effect.

Shamsuddin Panhwar, while tabling the resolution, said that in 2,002 a skin disease, leishmania, had broken out in the Kachho area and on the request of the taluka administration, a team of specialist doctors and professors from the LUMHS visited the affected area and treated the patients.

He said that the skin diseases had again surfaced in different parts of Kachho and the LUMHS administration should send teams of specialist doctors and set up medical camps there.

Usman Bahoto, supporting the resolution, demanded that tests of malaria, TB and hepatitis-B be carried out in the affected areas of Johi taluka. Lutfullah Leghari, Ali Bux and other members also supported the resolution.

Taluka Nazim Datal Khan Jamali said that tests of hepatitis-B, malaria and TB were costly and local people could not afford the same. He added that the taluka council would request the authorities concerned to send medical teams to the area.
