KARACHI, Dec 1: The city district government has launched an extensive anti-polio drive in an organized way with the cooperation of town administrations during which hundreds of teams would administer anti-polio vaccine to children below five years of age at their doorsteps.

DCO Fazlur Rahman inaugurated the campaign here on Wednesday by administering anti-polio drops to a child in Soldier Bazaar. Briefing the district coordination officer about the campaign, the EDO Health said that every union council of the city had been declared a zone by dividing it in 60 different parts.

Around 285 teams were administering vaccine by visiting houses, he said, adding that each team was being supervised by an in-charge. Fazlur Rahman was told that teams of city government were administering anti-polio drops in all parts of city.

The DCO ordered the officials to submit a comprehensive report at the end of the campaign. -PPI
