QUETTA, Nov 30: Over two dozen rockets were fired on Tuesday at checkpoints of law-enforcement agencies in the Kohlu and Sui areas of Balochistan. However, there was no report of casualty or damage to property.

Official sources, while confirming the rocket attacks, said that armed men positioned on the Jandran mountains in Kohlu area fired over a dozen rockets at the check posts of Frontier Corps early in the morning.

FC personnel fired many rockets in retaliation. However, the attackers escaped. Reports reaching here from Sui tehsil of Dera Bugti district said that many rockets were fired in the area acquired by the government for establishing new cantonment.

NEW PASSPORTS: The Aalami Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-i-Nabuwat (AMTKN) has warned of launching a movement against the government if a section for mentioning religion in the computerized passport is not added.

Speaking at a press conference held at the press club on Tuesday, AMTKN provincial chief Maulana Abdul Wahid and Qari Anwarul Haq Haqqani accused the government of facilitating a particular sect by omitting the section for religion in the new passports and termed it an unconstitutional step.

They referred to the inclusion of oath on Khatm-i-Nabuwat in the electoral forms in joint or separate polls and said that it was the responsibility of the government to add the section for mentioning the religion one follows.
