PESHAWAR, Nov 24: An aggrieved person has appealed to Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani and the IGP to take notice of the activities of the SHO Faqirabad and take stern departmental action against the official for his 'illegal' raids on houses of citizens without any warrants.

Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, Malik Aftab alleged that the SHO had been harassing him and asking him for monthly payment. Mr Aftab alleged that in Ramazan, the SHO conducted a raid on a house where he (Aftab) had been invited for Iftar.

He said that during the raid on the house of Qari Hayatullah and Qari Rohullah, police took Rs200,000 in cash and some gold from their house. Malik Aftab asked the IGP to help him get back the money and gold from the police and stop the SHO from committing excesses.

If the SHO continued his illegal actions, he would leave his Suzuki stand for which he was paying tax to the government, Mr Aftab threatened. He asked the IGP for a departmental action against the police official.
