KARACHI, Nov 23: At least 150 houses in North Nazimabad's block C, near the Technical Training Centre, have been receiving contaminated water since the second day of Eid, forcing the residents to purchase water through private tankers at exorbitant rates.

The residents complained that although they were continuously being supplied contaminated water, giving foul smell, the Karachi Water Supply Board officials, including the North Nazimabad's executive and superintending engineers, had not yet taken any measures to rectify the fault responsible for the filthy water supply despite the lodging of a number of complaints with them.

Suspecting that sewage might be seeping into their waterline, the residents urged KWSB chief engineer to direct the officials concerned to immediately restore their supply after removing the fault, otherwise people in the locality might suffer serious health problems.

OVERFLOWS: The sewage coming out from a chocked storm-water drain running parallel to the Finance and Trade Centre on Sharea Faisal, has spread near the FTC Flyover, causing hindrance in the smooth flow of traffic.
