MULTAN, Nov 22: The Mango Growers Association has opposed the proposed privatization of Pak-Arab Fertilizers Limited for it will create shortage of acidic fertilizers in the country.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, MGA president Zahid Hussain Gardezi said that acidic fertilizers suited to the Pakistani soil and only the PFL was manufacturing this kind of fertilizers in the country.

He said as the manufacturing of acidic fertilizers yielded less profit as compared to the alkaline fertilizers the private parties usually invested in the latter due to high profitability. "There will be dearth of acidic fertilizers once the PFL has also gone to the private sector," he apprehended.
