NEW DELHI, Nov 19: India has conveyed its strong concern to the United States over its proposed arms sale to Pakistan, an Indian foreign ministry spokesman said on Friday.

Spokesman Navtej Sarna was asked if Indian Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran, on a visit to the United States, had raised the issue of the reported arms sale with Washington.

He said Mr Saran had had meetings with the US National Security Adviser and other senior US officials. "He has conveyed India's strong concern at the reports of impending arms sales by the United States to Pakistan. He has pointed out the repercussions of such sales on the India-Pakistan dialogue, which is currently poised at a sensitive juncture."
