MANSEHRA, Nov 19: Work on three small dams in the area will begin soon after the completion of necessary paper work, says district Nazim Syed Ahmad Hussain Shah. He was talking to members of various delegations who had called on him on Friday.

Mr Shah said that Mansehra district had abundant potential for promotion of tourism but so far it had not been properly supported because of lack of basic infrastructure.

He said that he had taken up the matter with the federal and provincial governments and expressed the hope that a comprehensive package for the promotion of local tourist industry would soon be announced.

He said that efforts were being made for the completion of ongoing projects in the district before the expiry of his tenure as district nazim.

The district nazim said that the district government was earning a considerable income from the toll plaza on the Karakoram Highway, adding that the funds would be utilized for initiating a number of development schemes.
