MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 17: AJK Chief Election Commissioner Justice Syed Manzoor Hussain Gillani has called a meeting of all political parties of Azad Kashmir in connection with the next general elections of the state due in mid 2006, an official said here on Wednesday.

Election Commissioner Shaikh Mohammad Nasim told reporters that invitations to the heads of almost all political parties had already been sent for the meeting which would be held at a hotel in Islamabad on Saturday.

The meeting would discuss, among other things, preparation of new electoral rolls for the next polls, the official said, adding the preparation of new lists had been necessitated due to reduction in the minimum age limit of voters.

He said the existing lists were prepared in 1999 and used in July 2001 elections, whereby the age limit of voter was 21 years which had now been brought down to 18 years.
