LAHORE, Nov 5: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi said on Friday that labour colonies were being constructed near industrial estates for providing education, health, housing and other facilities to workers.

He was presiding over a meeting held in connection with the welfare of industrial workers. Residential colonies would also be constructed near the Sundar Industrial Estate, Lahore, and Faisalabad and Multan industrial estates. These colonies would also include model schools for the children of workers.

The Punjab Social Security Health Management Company has also been formed which would provide health facilities to workers and their families. It would ensure the provision of modern equipment, free medical facilities and special doctors in all social security hospitals.
