Published October 16, 2004

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has constituted a committee on think tanks and appointed Prof Attaur Rehman as chairman of the committee.

The committee has been asked to formulate concrete and implementable action plan to inculcate the culture of consulting think tanks in the country and encourage establishment of think tanks on private sector initiatives.

The committee would also be responsible for making existing think tanks more relevant to government requirements and making these think tanks financially viable.

The committee will regularly finalize the plan of action to implement the recommendations of think tanks and keep the prime minister informed. -PPI
