Strategies for seven SME sectors

KARACHI, Oct 12: The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) has initiated an emergent programme to design development strategies for seven priority sectors of the SME industry identified by Industries and Production Minister Jehangir Khan Tareen.

This was disclosed by Shahab Khawaja, Smeda Chief Executive Officer, on Tuesday while addressing the first meeting of a series of interactions commenced for this purpose with stakeholders of the seven priority sectors.

These sectors include gem and jewellery, marble and granite, fisheries, engineering, furniture, leather and sport goods. The first two meetings of this series were held on gem and jewellery and marble and granite sectors.
