LAHORE, Oct 8: The Indian football team will play a three-match series in Pakistan in February next year. A Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) spokesman said that All-India Football Federation had responded positively to an invitation sent to them for the tour early this year.

The spokesman said that dates and venues of the matches will be announced shortly. He said that invitation was also given to Thailand but so far no confirmation had been received from them.

He said that Pakistan would also tour India, later. Meanwhile, the PFF secretary Arshad Khan Lodhi has suspended all selections of FIFA referees made on Sept 27, 2004 and instructed to select new ones on merit.

A new committee to appoint FIFA referees has been formed. President PFF Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat will be the chairman while Mujahidullah Tareen, Major Farooq, Chaudhary Rasheed, Ahmad Ali are members.
