ISI chief, corps commanders named

ISLAMABAD, Oct 3: Lieutenant General Pervez Kiani, the Commander 10 Corps, Rawalpindi, has been transferred and made the Director-General of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).

According to an ISPR handout issued on Sunday, seven major generals of the Pakistan Army have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general and assigned new posts.

The promoted officers are: Major-General Syed Athar Ali, posted as Corps Commander Karachi; Major-General Muhammad Afzal Muzaffar, posted as Corps Commander Multan; Major-General Hamid Rabnawaz, posted as Corps Commander Quetta; Major-General Sallahuddin Satti, posted as Corps Commander Rawalpindi; Major-General Imtiaz Hussin, posted as Director-General Weapons and Equipment; Major-General Wasim Ahmed Ashraf, posted as Adjutant General Pakistan Army; and Major-General Muhammad Sabir, posted as Corps Commander Gujranwala. Lt-Gen Shahid Wahid has been posted as Commandant National Defence College. -APP
