BD newspaper editor killed

BOGRA, Oct 3: An editor of a newspaper in Bangladesh's north western city of Bogra was killed early On Sunday by five axe-wielding youths who appeared to be professional killers, police said.

Mr Dipankar Chakroborty, 59, editor of the Bengali daily Durjoy Bangla, was heading home at around 12:20 am on Sunday when the gang struck him down with traditional axes, killing him instantly, police said. -AFP
