DADU, Sept 30: Political leaders and elected representatives have condoled the death of nationalist leader Syed Imdad Mohammad Shah.
Leaders of various political parties, MNAs, MPAs and nazims visited the residence of the late leader in Sann and offered condolences to his sons, Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, Ponam general secretary and Syed Zain Shah, Jeay Sindh Mahaz chairman and elder brother Syed Amir Haider Shah.
Those who offered condolences included provincial Minister for Works and Services Syed Sadaruddin Shah, provincial Minister for Planning and Development Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, adviser to Sindh chief minister for environment Nauman Saigol, PPP MNAs Amir Ali Shah Jamote and Ghulam Mustafa Shah, MPAs Sadaqat Ali Jatoi, Ehsan Ali Jatoi and Dr Manzoor Ahmed Leghari, Hakim Ali Zardari, Sindh National Party chairman Amir Bhambhro, Pakistan Tahreek Insaf president Sindh, Mir Haider Talpur, Sindh, Hari Committee president Azhar Jatoi, renowned writer Ali Baba and Ghulam Ali Butt .
Those who spoke to the members of the Syed family to offer condolences included Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Raheem, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Ponam president Ataullah Mengal, chief executive officer of Dawn Group of Newspapers Hameed Haroon, World Sindhi Congress chairman Abdul Raheem Halepoto, MQM Rabita Committee convener and World Sindhi Congress representative Saghir Ahmed Shaikh. The Soyem of the late Imdad Shah will be held in Sann on Friday.
RAIN: Different parts of Dadu district, including Dadu, Sehwan, Johi, Khairpur Nathan Shah and Mehar talukas received light rain with strong winds on Thursday.
WATER SCHEMES: The Sindh Local Government Commission has directed the DCO to withdraw orders regarding execution of water supply and drainage schemes in the district, which, instead of TMAs, were given to the district support unit.
Commission member Haji Munawar Ali Abbasi, in his letter, observed that the SLGC, on receiving complaints regarding the schemes, had held that orders issued by the DCO on June 2 and 25 were based on ill intention and in contrast to the provisions of the ordinance, therefore, the DCO was directed to immediately withdraw his orders.
The Sindh Local Government Department secretary in his order directed the DCO that, under the SLGO, water supply, drainage and street pavement schemes were to be carried out by TMAs, while schemes under the DERA programme were to be executed by the district government.
