KARACHI, Sept 29: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has approved the regularization policy for all kutchi abadis that exist on the land under the control of the city government , the defunct KMC, KDA, MDA, LDA, Orangi Township and the Lines Area Rehabilitation Project (LARP).

A notification to this effect was issued by the city government a few days back. Under this policy, no leases would be granted by the Sindh Kutchi Abadis Authority (SKAA) in kutchi abadis that fall under the territorial limits of the city government.

According to the new policy, the NOCs issued earlier by the defunct KMC, KDA and the city government empowering the SKAA for regularization and leasing on the city government land will stand cancelled and withdrawn with immediate effect.

The city nazim asked the district registrar and the sub-registrar (properties) to stop registration of leases by SKAA in the limits of the city government.

District officer of the kutchi abadis has been authorized to execute lease withdrawing immediately any notification or order empowering any other officer in this regard. - PPI
