HYDERABAD, Sept 26: District Naib Nazim Nawab Rashid Ali Khan on Saturday constituted a seven-member committee to look into housing projects launched by the Hyderabad Development Authority.

The committee, headed by Mr Khan himself, comprises Abdul Qadeer Qazi, Yousuf Qureshi (Latifabad taluka), Dr Ayaz Arain, Majeed Qureshi and Rana Mehmood Ali (City taluka), Khaliq Chandio and Ali Nawaz Kutrio (Qasimabad taluka).

The members of the district council had expressed concern over growing commercialisation in the city by the HDA despite the fact that it had failed to complete the previous ones.

Abdul Qadeer Qazi alleged that the HDA to overcome its financial crisis looted people by collecting their money for the projects. After examining housing schemes, the committee intended to fix responsibility on officials who were responsible for the poor state of housing projects.
