KOHAT, Sept 22: The district amir of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Dr Mutahir Shah has urged the people to attend the party's annual congregation scheduled for October in Peshawar, a press release issued here quoted him as saying on Tuesday.

Criticizing the government, he said that it had not allowed the JI to hold its annual congregation at the Minar-i-Pakistan in Lahore, adding that it showed that it was afraid of the party's popularity and that it could not be intimidated through the use of such unlawful tactics.

He said that the party was making arrangements for providing transport, food, boarding, lodging and other facilities for people who wanted to attend the congregation.
