TOBA TEK SINGH, Sept 16: The first ever case was instituted on Thursday under the new police order against the Sadar SHO and other policemen on the orders of the DPO.

The DPO told newsmen that armed robbers had snatched a truck (5947-AJKA) loaded with cotton seed bags, electric water pumps and electric grinders near Multan.

The truck was caught by the check post staff of the Sadar police station near Allahar Pind on Toba-Jhang Road. He said the policemen had not only showed negligence which resulted in the fleeing of two bandits but also misappropriated electric pumps and grinder machines.

The DPO further said that the inquiry was ordered against the policemen which found SHO Usman Lashari, head constable Amjad Bashir, naib-muharrar Muhammad Akram, sub-inspector Sultan Ali and constable Manzoor Ahmad guilty of charges. However, no arrest has so far been made in this respect till the filing of this report.

DEPRIVED: Three robbers on Thursday deprived a villager of Rs5,000 in cash near Chak 297-GB. Tahir Mahmood was on his way to Pirmahal by his two-wheeler when armed robbers intercepted him and escaped after snatching cash from him.
