Moot on forensic medicine

KARACHI, May 24: The Sindh Medical College and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Karachi will hold a national conference on forensic medicine/toxicology/hepatitis on May 28 and 29 at a local hotel.

The department of forensic medicine and toxicology SMC, in collaboration with National Poison Control Centre, and JPMC is organising this multi-dimensional national conference.

The objectives of this moot are to highlight the difficulties arising in the enforcement of Qisas and Diyat Act in interpretation of injuries, augment awareness in combating hepatitis/HIV in Pakistan.

It would discuss and highlight various problems arising in investigation of death of medico legal nature, promote establishment of poisoning units in all big cities.

It would emphasise difficulties in management of poisoning cases, difficulties experienced by doctors in discharging their medico-legal duties.—PPI
