ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: National Highways and Motorway Police have arrested a gang of robbers and recovered a stolen car from their possession, a spokesman for the police said here on Wednesday.

The spokesman said the car (FAG-9911) was stolen from Pirwadhai police jurisdiction at gunpoint. The National Highways and Motorway Police were informed by the Rawalpindi police about the incident.

The motorway police in turn informed all their patrolling cars and officers about the vehicle. The car was seen near Haro Toll Plaza and the driver was signalled to stop.

The driver, instead of stopping, resorted to aerial firing and fled from the scene. However, the car thieves were stopped near Attock bridge. The three robbers admitted that they had snatched this car from Rawalpindi. Later, the vehicle and robbers were handed over to the police for further investigation and legal action.
