HYDERABAD, Sept 14: Sindh Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal president MNA Asadullah Bhutto has demanded that the government should allow parliamentarians, journalists and human rights activists to visit tribal areas where an army operation is going on.

Talking to journalists at the residence of party MPA Abdul Rehman Rajput here on Tuesday, he said the MMA believed that those killed in Wana were not outsiders but innocent and unarmed local people, including women and children.

He urged Gen President Pervez Musharraf to abide by the Constitution otherwise people would not let him keep the office of the president, as well as of the Chief of Army Staff. He said it appeared that the issue had once again been complicated.

He said a relief package should also be announced for farmers, allowing special discounts in electricity tariff for tube-wells and land revenues. He lashed out at the government for delaying implementation of the president's Hyderabad development package.

He in this connection referred to an answer of the government in the National Assembly in response to a query of a party MNA that the Sindh governor had not presented a convincing case regarding the package to the Centre. He said the government should expedite work on the Right Bank Out fall Drain.
