FAISALABAD, Sept 13: The local police claimed to have killed an alleged murderer and kidnapper along with his accomplice in an encounter in the limits of Peoples Colony police station on Monday.

The police said that two unknown gangsters had snatched a motorcycle (FSC-2833) from Hussain Khan in Batala Colony. After receiving information, police teams started checking suspected vehicles on pickets.

A police team on a picket duty near Chak 204 Morr intercepted two motorcyclists, but the pillion rider opened fire on the policemen. Already on the alert, the policemen returned the fire and killed both the riders instantly.

The police recovered two pistols and some bullets from the possession of deceased outlaws. Besides, the police also took into custody a motorcycle (FSC-2388) they had snatched in the morning from the jurisdiction of Batala Colony police station.

The police further claimed that one of the deceased was Arif Masih, involved in the kidnap for ransom and killing of Osama (4) some one month back. Arif had escaped from police custody when he was taken to the DHQ Hospital for medical check-up on Wednesday last. The identity of the other deceased could not be established till the filing of this report.
