BADIN, Sept 13: The Pakistan Telecommunication Employees Union has threatened to launch a country-wide protest movement against the PTCL management, if their charter of demands was not accepted.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the regional president of the STR-I, Shafi Mallah, the deputy-general secretary, Nazir Chachar and Qamar Junejo said there was unrest among employees over, what they claimed, the arrogant attitude of the PTCL authorities towards their genuine problems.

They blamed that officials were not accepting victory of their union which had won massive mandate with a 11,000 votes lead in the referendum in March this year. They said the PTCL administration had spent over Rs10 million on conducting referendum and now officials were terming it unfair.

They said the workers had installed more than 200,000 free phones to subscribers but the management had not provided any relief to them. They put forward their demands which included the regularization of daily wage employees.
