HYDERABAD, Sept 13: A letter written by the Taluka Municipal Officer and his subsequent remarks against elected representatives were the subject of a heated debate in the TCC's session on Monday.

Convener Abdul Qadir Naghar expunged the remarks of TMO City Asadullah against members of the TCC. Qari Niaz rose on a point of order and said the TMO had by passed Taluka Nazim Haji Moin Sheikh by writing letters to the Sindh governor regarding proposed commercial schemes to be launched by the TMA City.

Qamar Sheikh said the letter might lead to a negative impact on development of the city. The TMO City said the rules were being violated by the TMA for that reason he wrote a letter because he was an employ of the government.

The chair asked the TMO to present the letter he had received from the government and the one he had sent. Usman Abbasi expressed dissatisfaction over incomplete answer provided to him to his query regarding the Mehboob press.

Mr Abbasi said he had submitted a question in Feb this year yet a complete answer had not been provided to him. He said though the property was owned by the TMA yet it was unaware of it because its rent was collected by the Auqaf department.

He proposed that a committee be appointed to discover such properties of the TMA in the city and their possession be secured if they were occupied. Members, however, said the press was located in five city survey numbers.

The TMA agreed with proposal of Abdul Hameed regarding spot for disposal of garbage and its recycling. He said no dumping ground for garbage was available in the city and it was being thrown at different locations. The TMA expressed its inability of implementing the proposal itself and said the Sindh government could do something in this regard.
