ISLAMABAD, Sept 10: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in a meeting here at the Prime Minister's House considered various options for the Islamabad International Airport project.

The prime minister directed the Civil Aviation Authority to work on the options and put up a final proposal for approval. A press release issued here said that while commenting on a presentation by the Civil Aviation Authority, the prime minister directed the revamping of the CAA on commercial lines with focus on providing better service to passengers.

Mr Aziz directed the CAA to initiate construction work on the Gwadar airport, and said that a modern airport equipped with better facilities should be built to meet future requirements.

He directed the CAA to set up modern cargo villages at Lahore and Karachi airports. The prime minister said the CAA should be working on commercial and professional lines and should function as a service oriented, vibrant and efficient organization.

He asked the authority to prepare the revamping plan within eight weeks and submit for consideration and approval.
