ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: Pakistan Wednesday called upon the Macedonian government to speed up the judicial process to bring the culprits, behind the murder of six innocent Pakistanis, to task.

Foreign Office spokesman Masood Khan commenting on reports of arrest of the former Interior Minister of Macedonia Ljube Boskovski, wanted for the arrest of six innocent Pakistanis in March 2002, described it "a step in right direction".

He said "this arrest has raked up bitter memories of brutal murders of innocent Pakistanis, whose families are awaiting justice and compensation." "We call upon the Macedonian government to speed up the judicial process to bring this case to a closure," he said. The Pakistanis were killed in a fake encounter and described as terrorists belonging to Al Qaeda by the authorities. -APP
