LAHORE, Aug 27: A man allegedly stabbed to death his sister-in-law on suspicion and another man shot dead his stepfather in separate incidents here on Friday.

Quoting family, the police said Rubina (30) had been married off to Javed of Baghbanpura. Her husband left for his job in Sheikhupura had not returned home for the last three months.

Since then, the woman had been residing with her brother-in-law Muhammad Sadiq. Sadiq suspected that she had relations with a neighbour. He exchanged harsh words with her over the issue and, later, stabbed her and escaped. She got serious injuries and died in hospital. Her body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy.

A mother of five, Irshad Bibi (40), had contracted second marriage with Yousuf of Farooq Colony, Factory Area, some seven months ago. Her eldest son Rehmat from her first relation was not happy on this marriage.

On Friday, he visited her and allegedly opened fire after an argument. Irshad Bibi and her second husband Yousuf suffered bullet wounds. Yousuf died in hospital while the woman was stated to be in critical condition. The body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy.
