HYDERABAD, Aug 24: The Sindh chapter of the Labour Party Pakistan has alleged that Shaukat Aziz has been elected MNA through rigging, and termed his election a bad omen for the working class.

Participants of a party meeting held here on Monday observed that the process of handing over the control of the country to the imperialist forces would be completed with Mr Aziz as prime minister.

The LPP meeting accused the rulers of creating a water crisis in Sindh which, it noted, had resulted in famine like situation in the province. It resolved to resist the construction of the Kalabagh dam.

It demanded that army operation in Balochistan be called off and the right of the "nations" over their natural resources acknowledged. It further demanded that the country should rid itself of the IMF, World Bank and WTO which were controlled by imperialist America.

It said that the land allotted to army personnel in Sindh should be taken back and distributed among peasants, feudal system be abolished, ban on trade unions be lifted and Industrial Relations Ordinance 2002 and discriminatory laws against women and minorities be repealed.

The meeting decided to convene a Sindh Hari Conference in Mirpurkhas on August 29 to discuss ways and means to get rid of feudal system. The meeting also decided to hold third congress of the Sindh chapter of the LPP on September 26 in Hyderabad to elect new provincial leadership.
