DERA GHAZI KHAN, Aug 23: The ongoing tussle between the district Nazim and the DG Khan DCO has come to an end with the transfer of the latter. Following the decision, a rally led by district Nazim Jamal Khan Leghari, stormed into the Officers Club by breaking locks of its main gate here on Monday to inaugurate the newly-built jogging track.

Earlier, the track was to be inaugurated by transferred DCO Shafqatur Rehman Ranjha. Local MPAs Mohsin Leghari, Javed Lond, Aleem Shah, the EDO (Agriculture) and the EDO (Literacy) were the prominent figures among the participants of the rally. They also chanted slogans against the transferred DCO.

Speaking on the occasion, the district Nazim said the jogging track had been established with the funds provided by the district government and it was his right to inaugurate the track.

He said that he would offer resistance against those representatives of bureaucracy who were out to create hurdles in the implementation of devolution plan. Mr Jamal Leghari maintained that the DCO was secretary of the district Nazim under the new devolution plan.

The district Nazim publicly confessed that he could not do what the people of his district were expecting from him, but in future he would constantly remain in touch with them.

District Naib Nazim Javed Iqbal Qaisrani, Punjab Baitul Maal's Dr Saleem, Taunsa tehsil Nazim Sharif Saeedullah Nasuha, Dera tehsil Nazim Aasim Zubair Khosa, MPAs Aleem Shah, Javed Akhtar Lond, Mohsin Khan Leghari, JUI's Maulana Jamal Nasir, union Nazims Tayyab Lashari, Zafar Shah, Umer Khosa, Mian Abu Bakar also spoke on the occasion.
