LAHORE, May 23: Eid Miladun Nabi, the birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) will be celebrated on Saturday with traditional religious fervour.

Processions will be the major event of the day and taken out in all the cities and towns throughout the country.

A number of processions will be taken out in different parts of the provincial metropolis. The main procession will be taken out from the Milad Chowk outside the Delhi Gate to the shrine of Data Ganj Bakhsh. Thousands of devotees will participate in the procession. A number of small processions starting from different parts of the metropolis will merge into the main procession.

The city government is making special arrangements for the procession.

Other processions will be taken out from the Lahore railway station and Islampura. Bazaars and markets will be decorated on the occasion.

The faithful will spend the night before in mosques reciting the verses of the Holy Quran in praise of the Holy Prophet. All the mosques will be illuminated at night.
